NRHA Breeders Futurity Bit Ltd. Open Results
Only one point behind them, Daniel Arnold (GER) and ND Kiara Pop A Whiz (Topsail Whiz x MM Pop Tart) claimed the Non Pro Res. Champion title. Already in 2010, Daniel Arnold was the leading Breeders Futurity Non Pro money earner (then, almost €40,000). He was e.g. 2008 Co-Reserve Champion Bit Non Pro and 2009 Res. Bernard Fonck wins NRHA Breeders Futurity Bit Open, Franco Bertolani the Ltd. Open

Another huge success for Bernard Fonck: As the 6th rider, the Belgian set top score of the Bit Open final with Time to Mark Big (Big Checks To Cash x Shes Markin Time). The stallion bred by Ann & Gregg Barnard is owned by Manuel Bonzano, ITA. With Bernard Fonck in the saddle, the horse was third at the 2011 NRHA European Futurity. The two had had the third highest total score of the go rounds and showed a brilliant run in the final scoring a 224. This was the Futurity Champion Bit Open title. Bernard Fonck also placed fourth with his second horse Big Sky Whizard (220).

The Reserve Champion title was claimed by Rudi Kronsteiner (AUT) and Shes Got Big Guns (Colonels Smoking Gun x BH Top Gun) who scored a 22.5. The mare which was bred by Fredrick Pursell and is owned by Sigrid Gooris, was NRHA European Futurity Res. Champion Level 3 with Lucas Brucek. Like Bernard Fonck, Rudi Kronsteiner had two horses in the final and incredibly bad luck with his second horse: European Futurity Champion Finest Copyshot (owner Anja Deutzmann). The mare had a brilliant run right after Fonck’s ride, and it seemed that she might be able to win. But in the final back up, she suddenly rolled back which resulted in a 0 score.

Grischa Ludwig and Shine My Gun (Colonels Smoking Gun x Shiners Mistress), a stallion owned by Stephanie Madaus placed third scoring a 221. With this horse, Grischa Ludwig was Americana Futurity Res. Champion and third at the Austrian Derby.

Four riders tied for fourth place scoring a 220 each: Bernard Fonck astride Big Sky Whizard, Emanuel Ernst riding Whizasparkywalla BB (Topsail Whiz x Walla Walla Sunshine), a mare owned by Rüdiger Diedenhofen (with this horse, Emanuel was FEQHA European Champion SBH Reining Open 2011). Shauna Larcombe astride La Bigia Sailor (Frozen Sailor x Handle My Heart), a mare bred by Angelucci QH and owned by Corinna Schumacher, and Franco Bertolani riding Gunna Be Majestic to the Limited Open Futurity Champion title.

Gunna Be Majestic is a 4-year-old mare by Gunner out of Shes A Majestic Whiz, which was bred by San Juan Ranch and is owned by Quarter Dream. Bertolani rode her into the Austrian Futurity and European Derby final. The two were leading Limited Open ranking after the go rounds. The Reserve Champion title in Limited Open Bit went to Nico Hörmann and Furys Dandy Doll (Smart Little Fury x Hollys Mystic Mount). The mare owned by Gerhard Rust scored a 217.5.

Andrea Stillo (ITA) wins Non Pro Bit Futurity in Kreuth, Manuel Bonzano Second

The final in the Bit Non Pro Breeders Futurity in Kreuth was a most fascinating one until the end. Manuel Bonzano scored a 216.5 with one of his two horses in the final Gallo Step which seemed to be the top score for quite some time. Manuel and this stallion had had the best run of the second go round. But then. it was the last rider to take the first place: Andrea Stillo (ITA) with Spin N Wimp (Wimpys Little Step x Spinning Beauty by Shining Spark) . The two had been 8th after the go rounds and scored a brilliant 217.5 in the final. This was the Futurity Champion Bit title both in Non Pro and Limited Non Pro. Emanuel Ernst wins SBH Open Futurity, Cira Baeck Ltd. Open

Only a few weeks ago, this horse won the Belgian Futurity, and now he became 2011 NRHA Breeders Futurity Champion SBH Open: Whizasunnysailor BB with Emanuel Ernst (GER) in the saddle. The stallion by Topsail Whiz out of Walla Walla Sunshine, which was bred by Arthur Baeck and is owned by Rüdiger Diedenhofen is, was second best of the go round (224). In the final, Emanuel Ernst risked everything as the last but one rider. He risked everything, and it paid: The two achieved a 226 and claimed the open title. It was not Emanuel Ernst’s first big success. Among his achievements so far are: Breeders Futurity Res. Champion, NF German Champion, team gold at the FEI European Championship, Bronze Trophy Champion and team bronze at the FEI World Championship in Manerbio.

Almost would the last rider have succeeded in winning the Open final: Bernard Fonck (BEL) and Lil Ruf Lancer (Lil Ruf Cody x WN Royal Peponita). But in the end, the two left the arena with a score of 224 which was the Reserve Champion title Open. Lil Ruf Lancer was 2011 Austrian Futurity Champion. The horse is owned by Niels Langhammer. Bernard Fonck’s Lifetime Earnings are more than $ 800,000 so far and he is leading NRHA Open ranking with Great Sunburst at the moment.

Three riders tied for third place scoring a 223.5: Rudi Kronsteiner (AUT) astride Gunwork (I Am Shotgunner x Its Another Footwork) owned by Anja Deutzmann, Bernard Fonck (BEL) astride Smart N Sparkin (Smart Chic Olena x Setting Off Sparks) owned by 7 Heaven Reining Horses and Nicola Brunelli (ITA) astride RS Spat Man O War (Spat Olena x RS Hollywood Hglo) owned by Claudio Risso.
