Nu har det dragit igång, årets upplaga av Americana. Americana är sedan länge Europas största westernshow. Tävlingar på hög nivå samsas med en gigantisk mässa och tradeshow. Förra årets Americana var lite av antiklimax för oss svenskar då en svenskfödd och svensktränad häst vann Futurityt. I år är det lite mer rutinerade hästar och svenska ekipage på plats bland annat Magnus Nilsson, Urban Gullberg, Jan Ehnemark och Thomas Thorvaldsson.
Utöver ryttarna finns ett helt gäng svenskar som njuter tävlingen från läktarna.
Nu på förmiddagen fick vi veta att Jan Ehnemark gått vidare till final i Non Pro Cuttingen. Tillsammans med sin följeslagerska Smart Drive Thelma scorade dom 136 och slutade på en 6:e plats i kvalet.

These are the Finalists of the European Cutting Championship Non Pro

Ten made it to the European Cutting Championship Non Pro final at the 2011 Americana. The go round was dominated by 17-year-old Diana Jisova (CZE) and Meradas Talkin Money. The two had won the Masters Cutting Non Pro at the first day of Americana with high score 146. In the go round of the EC, the two showed a brilliant run scoring a 144 – 3 bpoints ahead of the second placed. “I’ so happy,” Diana said after her run. „I’ve got Merada fort wo years now. We competed in Americana last year, but not with much success as my mare had to get accustomed to the European cows . This year, she is simply fantastic.“
Diana Jisova has been riding and showing cutting for four years now. She trains her mare herself, but lets her dressage trainer help her with basic body control. The week-end before Americana, Diana and Meradas Talkin Money won the international Cutting Show in Poland scoring a 72.5. “For me, Americana ist he biggest show I ever competed in,” she says. “I’m so glad about what Merada did for me so far. But I owe a lot of my success to my mother who really knows how to coach be although she is not a rider herself.”
Last year’s Reserve Champion Annalisa Piazzi (ITA) and Acres Of Time placed second scoring a 141. The 15-year-old stallion was Americana European Cutting Champion Open in 2003 with Gianluca Munarini in the saddle. Gerold Dautzenberg (AUT) aboard Peppys Lil Ricochet and Jürgen Döring (GER) aboard Kiss My Cat tied for third place scoring a 139 each. Multiple European Champion Gerold Dautzenberg claimed the Gold medal at the AQHA European Championship Cutting once more only two weeks before Americana – aboard Roosters Dream, a 10-year-old mare he also rode into the EC final of Americana this time. With Peppys Lil Ricochet, an 11-year-old gelding, Gerold claimed EC silver in Kreuth in 2009.
Jürgen Döring and Kiss My Cat already were Americana European Cutting Champion Non Pro once and earned many international titles. Kiss My Cat is one of the few sons of High Brow Cat in Europe – and the most successful one anyway winning the Equitana Cutting Cup, the ECHA Super Stakes and the Dutch Championships.
The other Non Pro finalists are Manfred Seif (GER), Jan Ehnemark (SWE), Linda Villing (GER), Michal Pokorny (SVK) and Natalie Popova (CZE).
The Non Pro final of the EC is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31 – the first day Americana is open for visitors.
